Tammy

Tammy Damrath is a Nutrition Therapy Association (NTA) Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, a Restorative Wellness Solutions Level 1 Practitioner, Precision Nutrition Certified (PNL1), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Nutrition Specialist, American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer, Certified CorePower & YogaScuplt 2012, and a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200.

Tammy began her wellness career in 1990 teaching high-impact aerobics while she was an undergrad.  She has a BS in Civil Engineering and MS in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University.  She continued to teach group fitness while working full-time as an engineer for 12 years, but retired when her boys were born and expanded her wellness practice to nutrition coaching.  Her nutrition education began with many  programs for fitness professionals, as well as a lot of her own biohacking.   However, the frustration of working with clean-eating and motivated clients that couldn’t reach their goals led her to the Nutritional Therapy Association and their Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner program.  She discovered how to evaluate the bio-individual needs of her clients to fine-tune their eating plans and how very often it’s not just about the food - as much as other lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, breath, movement, digestion, hydration, chronic disease, and more).

This holistic approach to nutrition led her to expand her yoga practice, and she is currently completing her 200 hour RYT.  She is an AFAA and NASM certified personal trainer and holds an ACE group fitness certification as well as specialty group exercise formats (including step, kickboxing, water, Insanity, BodyPUMP, barre, BOSU, and CorePower YogaSculpt).

Tammy was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Colorado in 1997 with her husband, Will.  They have two boys, ages 15 and 12, and a five-year-old Golden Doodle.  She enjoys camping, sewing, gardening, cooking, hiking, and running short distances (no marathons since her 30s).  Her family spends most of their time at hockey rinks and their cabin in Nathrop, CO.
